The IBEW Local 1 Ladies Auxiliary goal is to ensure the use of union labor, the purchase of union made goods, and to support the relief committee in any way they can.

Frequently Asked Questions:

WHO CAN JOIN?

To be eligible to join the IBEW Local 1 Ladies Auxiliary you must be the spouse, mother, sister, or daughter of a member in good standing.

DOES IT COST ANYTHING?

Member dues are $5.00 annually / widows are $3.00!

WHEN AND WHERE DO WE MEET?

Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month (except June and July) at the IBEW Local 1 Union Hall. On the Tuesday of each week a group of ladies meet at the union hall to quilt and sometimes work on crafts. They bring their own lunch and work until around 2:00 p.m. We can arrange for transportation if necessary. We have two luncheon celebrations each year during April and December.

HOW DO WE RAISE MONEY?

The auxiliary hand quilts and sells baby quilts ($40.00 each) and other crafts. We quilt for people who have quilt tops they want quilted but our most popular item is a navy-blue throw with the IBEW emblem in the center ($65.00 each). There is an annual celebration in April where crafts and baby quilts are sold and orders are taken for the IBEW throws. We also raffle off handmade queen/king size quilts that were quilted, plus a baby quilt and two other items. Chances are $1 each or six for $5!

WHO GETS THE MONEY WE RAISE?

Every year since 1988 the IBEW Local 1 Ladies Auxiliary donate the proceeds raised throughout the year to the Relief Committee at the December luncheon. The IBEW Local 1 Relief Committee distributes the money to the neediest member families.

HOW CAN I JOIN?
