IBEW supports the Lions Club

The Overland Lions Community Fair is well on its way to getting ready for the Fair!

Lions members, the City of Overland, 22 IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) volunteers as well as the owners of Sanderson Electric got together to get the electrical wiring and lighting for the fairgrounds installed.

John and Marty Sanderson of Sanderson Electric donated their time and electrical license to pull the permit for the fair. Their participation also resulted in several waves of IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local One of St. Louis members volunteering time on Friday and Saturday to get the job done.

Volunteers from the Overland Lions, IBEW Local One, the City of Overland and our local community came together to get poles set and the electrical service and lighting wiring run throughout the fairgrounds in record time. While we lost many hours to trying to bore holes for the poles in ground that was rock hard due to the recent drought, we made up for it with the donation of time by 22 IBEW members, including a bucket truck thanks to Justin Viets of IBEW LU1 and Schaeffer Electric.
